Over a year ago shortly after getting into the HDSLR world about 4 or 5 months after getting my Canon T2i I was watching a video called Salton Sea Beach by Philip Bloom. I had seen his work in the past and am always inspired by the amazing work that he does and stunning results he gets out the Canon DSLRs when it comes to video. This video especially inspired me because it was shot with the T2i which when released was renowned as the half price “baby” 7D, this video shows why that name is so fitting.
After seeing this and after always wanting to do a video of this nature I decided to go out and shoot one and I knew just the location. Although I had already shot one at Baley’s Camping Resort in Scarborough, ME about a month before and one at Hartsthorne Pond in Milford, NH 6 months prior, I wanted to do something a little more in depth I guess and of higher quality.
The leaves and changed beautifully and so I wanted go somwere that they would really stand out. I chose a loactaion know to the local skateboarders as “Secret Spot”. Really its just a old foundation to a garage door company located behind a Dairy Queen, but couple years back it was unknown to most others and was a great place to skate without having to worry about being hassled by the cops. I wanted to make sure it came out really good so I took my time and thought every shot through highly all the way through the very last one.
In the end Im very pleased with how it came out and being a year after I first posted thought it needed a rebirth.
